Three Killed As Tractor Trolley Falls In Ditch
Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): Three people were killed when a tractor-trolley fell in a roadside ditch on Ratlam-Banswara highway, police said on Saturday. The incident took place at Amba Kui village near Kedareshwar Ghat killing Ishwar Maida, Sanju Maida and Kesharimal Maida on the spot, said.
The tractor-trolley loaded with maize, was travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat and fell in a 20-feet deep ditch at a culvert turn. The impact of the accident was so severe that the truck was completely shattered and sacks of maize were scattered up to 150 feet away from the site.
Investigators said that locals nearby heard the commotion and rushed to the spot. Local villagers, alongside Sarwan and Sailana police, arrived at the scene to assist in rescue efforts.
One person named Subhash Dabi was severely injured in the accident and has been referred to Ratlam Medical College after receiving first-aid at primary health centre in Sarwan. A case has been registered and further investigations were underway, SDOP Neelam Baghel said.
8 Sentenced To 5-Year RI In Attempt-To-Murder Case
Sitamau (Madhya Pradesh): Additional Sessions Judge Munendra Singh Verma on Saturday sentenced eight persons to five years’ rigorous imprisonment each for their involvement in an attempt-to-murder case in 2022.
He also imposed a fine on each of the accused- Sadu Mistry (23), Firoz Khan (25), Bulbul Khan (21), Shahrukh Pathan (25), Sonu Pathan (26), Sajid Mewati (21), Rahul Mehar (21) and Naeem Safiq (21), all from Suwasra, Mandsaur district.
Additional public prosecutor Vijay Kumar Patidar told the court that the accused opened brutal attack on complainant Pawan and his companion Manish with swords and knives on March 5, 2022. The incident was motivated by an old dispute between both groups.
The victims narrowly escaped severe injury. Bystanders intervened and assisted the injured to the hospital. A case was registered under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act.
The judge said the prosecution proved charges against the accused, who required to be convicted and sentenced. The accused were found guilty of charges under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and Arms Act and sentenced them to imprisonment.
